Traveling on Grayson's 5th Birthday

Suggestions for how not to spend your birthday? I nominate traveling halfway around the world. as we expected traveling halfway around the world with a five-year-old is proving to be challenging. We are sitting in the Detroit airport waiting for our plane to China to board. I feel a little bit sorry for Grayson as today is, in fact, this fifth birthday. To make the day a little better for him, Sasha asked to board the plane early and decorated his seat with a few birthday decorations and presents. As you might expect these proved to be a big hit. To make things better, the stewardess had everyone on the plane sing him happy birthday. When our plane mercifully landed in Detroit, Grayson turned and looked at me and said, "Are we to China yet?". Yes, it looks like it may be a long trip. Oh well, it's all good.
